Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, Berry Ottaway & Associates Ltd (BOA) is the oldest independent food science, technical and regulatory consultancy in continuous existence in the United Kingdom (UK) and the European Union (EU) that specialises in food/dietary supplements, functional foods (e.g. sports foods, meal replacements etc.), and their ingredients.

BOA offers a wide range of tailored support services, including in the areas of food regulatory compliance, food/food supplement labelling and claims, shelf-life/vitamin stability and good manufacturing practice. The consultancy also provides food supplements training on technical and regulatory issues, tailored to the client’s requirements.

The food consultancy is recognised internationally for its involvement in the areas of supplements and functional foods. It provides technical and regulatory support to trade associations in both the UK and internationally, and also provides an interface between industry and governments on scientific and technical issues.
